There has always been a Kelly’s ice cream van parked at the end of our favourite beach in Cornwall – for as long as I can remember.

National advertising highlights role of grass in making ice cream

In recent years we haven’t had to wait until the last two weeks in August to enjoy a Mr Kelly’s – we can buy it in our local supermarket – minus the sand.

Kelly’s of Cornwall’s current marketing campaign ‘Simple Pleasures’ is a real pleasure – with beautiful, simply shot photos/video which clearly make the link between grass, cows, milk and ice cream.

Now consumers know that what they are really buying is a scoop or two of grass – transformed by those clever cows into milk and cream, before being made into delicious ice cream.

Visit www.kellysofcornwall.co.uk to find out more about the farmers and dairy that supplies the company, and to watch the TV ad. There is also a wonderful video following ‘Daisy’s day’.

Well done Mr Kelly for helping the public make the connections between what we eat and where it comes from.
